Accounting firms, management consultancies and banks are just three industries that check the criminal record of their prospective or existing employees when hiring or deploying them on projects. With its Criminal Record Check (CRC) service, BRUTONICS supports companies in performing this check of certificates of good conduct, as they are not authorized to request or view certificates of good conduct from applicants or employees, as this is only permitted by law in defined exceptional cases. Otherwise, it is generally inadmissible under data protection law, as personal data of applicants or employees is viewed that is irrelevant to the employment relationship. According to the GDPR, this can lead to high penalties.
After the introduction of the Criminal Record Check (CRC) service in Germany, Switzerland and Austria now follow. BRUTONICS extends its CRC service to check Austrian criminal record certificates and Swiss criminal record extracts. Conveniently, role- or job-based negative lists can now be created in INTERMEDIARY, BRUTONICS' own platform, for Austria and Switzerland as well, specifying the offenses against which an applicant's criminal record will be checked. In this way, the employer is not given access to information that is not relevant to the employment relationship, which enables improved protection of the personal data of applicants and employees.
